(3rd and Union, 10th Floor, Vance Building, kitty corner to Benaroya Hall)
Agenda:
- Presentation: "Air Django" (Alex Tokar and Brian Gershon, Web Collective) [30 min]
Alex and Brian have been working on a large 2-year Django project for Air Charity, which is a group of non-profits that connect volunteer pilots with people who need to fly for emergency medical reasons, disasters like Katrina, etc. The Django system manages pilots, flights and passengers.
This will be a case study and discussion on best practices in 3 areas -- the Agile development process, multiple developer teams and testing, and structuring Django code.
- Presentation: "Django and the Facebook API" (Bradley Young, Consciou.us) [30 min]
Bradley Young is the principal at consciou.us llc. He is a multi-literate developer (Python/Perl/Java/C#), who also bridges the gap into technical selling from initial demonstration to proof of concept to implementation to relationship building. Mr. Young is also an experienced technical trainer.
Bradley will be talking a bit about the new Facebook APIs, and then into the code.
This is where you can share a cool thing
you're working on, or a Django trick you've learned.
Just a 5-10 minute talk or demo.
